| As a Life Purpose
and Career Coach, I see clients that I am in absolute awe
of, in regards to their gifts and talents. Meanwhile they
fail to recognize their gifts and talents as useful in their
career life. I find it amazing that one could be given such
blessings yet feel that they should be used as a hobby or
weekend adventure. Somewhere in our group consciousness, we
have bought the ticket that God wants us to be happy on the
weekends or on vacation.
Instinctively children know how to have fun
- they laugh, imagine and express themselves. As adults we
have dismissed the natural process of life (the fruits of
the spirit) and replaced it with an unhealthy lifestyle of
fear, stress and over analyzing. We are far too serious and
overwhelmed to appreciate the beauty and abundance that God
has set before us. You see we are in the land of Milk and
Honey and still looking for it.
The number one most challenging obstacle that
comes up for my clients is fear. Some are very clear that
fear is the thing that stops them from living at their fullest
potential, while others fail to acknowledge that fear is the
culprit. Nevertheless, it is absolutely apparent to me when
fear enters the room during our coaching sessions.
The client becomes almost paralyzed within themselves
unable to take a look at the block between them and a happy
and successful career life. The fear creates an illusion of
discomfort, frustration, inability and undesired change. Truth
is, fear arises when you are about to accomplish something
greater than you have ever envisioned for yourself. I advocate
that the occurrence of fear is an indication that we are about
to make real progress by moving through the fear and into
the light.
I suggest to my clients, to accept the abundant
blessing that have been set up for them as believers. I suggest
that they release their excuses, stories and doubts and embrace
the scriptural facts that the resurrection of Christ was for
us to have life and have it more abundantly.
Truth is, as Christians it is our responsibility
to live life abundantly, with a light so bright that others
are drawn to it. In living a bright life we are given the
perfect opportunity to give testimony to the people we attract.
Some of us know the scriptures and are talented at quoting
them but fall short at living a life thatreflects a stellar
example of the Word. I invite you to practice what you are
preaching or as others may say, walk the walk and not just
talk the talk.
God loves us enough to give us free will yet
we often stand in mediocrity stating that we are waiting on
Him to show us the way. When He has already given us all He
has and set all the circumstances to our human advantage.
We must remind ourselves that God can only do for us what
He can do through us. We have to act on faith.
Being that faith is the evidence of things unseen,
we cannot wait to see evidence or proof that we are in the
will of God or making the right decision. Therefore, when
we continually pray, the prayer covers, protects and redirects
us if needed as we go about the business of our day.
I found a definition of fear as false evidence
(usually mental) appearing real, it’s a false belief
that we have given power. The solution to fear is to remember
who we are, children of God and no weapon formed against them
shall prosper. For me, this statement is one that gives wings
of freedom to otherwise challenging situations.
If we are all created in the image of God, despite
our race, our physical appearance, our varying heights, our
multitude of body types, surely God must have compensated
for the aspect of our free will since he knew some of us would
be a hand-full. My belief if that the thing that comes natural
for us is His gift to us, for us to build upon and create
a joyous lifestyle that magnifies Him.
Therefore there is nothing to fear, only discoveries
to be made, paths to be traveled, wisdom and education to
be attained. Our purpose in life is as unique as each of us,
yet we all have a life’s purpose with the responsibility
of seeking it out and making the journey a testimonial giving
God all the praise.
Take a chance! All life is a chance. The
person who goes the furthest is generally the one who is willing
to do and dare. The “sure thing” boat never gets
far from the shore.
