| The travel industry
is one of the most important industries we have. Newspapers
find it worthy of dedicating sections to it in their papers,
and employers set up considerable travel expense accounts for
their employees. Travel is so prevalent in our lives that frequent
flyer miles often equate to dream vacation spots. Traveling
can be a reminder of how vast the world is in proportion to
our little concerns and issues. It can be a reminder that
there is so much more of life to be lived and experienced.
What’s important in one part of the world is not necessarily
an issue of concern on another continent, and travel exposes
this fact.
Through travel we are reminded to think without
boundaries, to be fully engaged in the present and to continually
refine our lives for the better. With each new adventure of
travel, there is so much more to learn, whether it be a new
culture, language(s) or simply a new way of processing information.
Travel is stimulation to our hungry brains.
Traveling is an institution within itself, often
teaching far more than a college education, not to mention
that it’s a lot more fun. Travel can become addictive,
asking you to extend beyond your current environment into
the unknown. It can be enriching, rewarding and extremely
helpful in keeping things in perspective. Travel helps you
actively learn about others, and it can provide an untiring
voyage of self discovery. But we must open ourselves to these
discoveries to benefit from them.
Both diversity and familiarity are present in
travel. There are always new things to be discovered, studied,
absorbed, and contemplated when traveling. Interests and communication
have been known to be enhanced by travel. It offers more topics
to be discussed, views and vistas to be shared, cultures to
be explained and diverse weather patterns to be described.
Travel is capable of availing itself to you with such beauty
and magnitude of scenery that being there in the presence
of it all fills you.
